Man found dead at parking lot of Jelutong high rise

GEORGE TOWN: A 55-year-old man was found dead at a high-rise apartment near Jalan Van Praagh in Jelutong on Wednesday (Oct 15) evening.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad said police received information from the public at about 7.16pm on Wednesday.

“The victim was found face down in the motorcycle parking area with multiple injuries,” he said on Thursday (Oct 16).

ACP Abdul Rozak said investigations at the scene and examination of the body found no criminal elements and added that checks on the 12th floor of the apartment led to the discovery of personal belongings believed to be his.

He added a post mortem at the Penang Hospital Forensic Department on Thursday found the cause of death was multiple injuries consistent with a fall from height.

The case is classified as sudden death and a sudden death report has been opened for further investigation.
