AN ECONOMY rice shop in Petaling Jaya had to put a stop to customers who grab all the best dishes and wait until 8.30pm just so they can enjoy a 50% discount, Sin Chew Daily reported.

It was earlier reported that the shop saw a surge in customers after it started offering food at half price after 8.30pm to help reduce waste.

However, it had gotten so popular that customers are now beginning to hoard food before the promotion time.

Some regulars complained that popular dishes such as fried chicken are all gone by the time they reach the shop at 8.30pm.

The economy rice shop has since put up a sign that says none of the food selected before 8.30pm are eligible for discount.

The sign made its rounds on social media and netizens are praising the shop for the move.

> In a rare moment, superstar Jacky Cheung, known for being a perfectionist, sang off tune during his first concert in Korea recently, China Press reported.

The 63-year-old broke the hearts of fans when he failed to hit the high notes on one of his classic numbers, Comment.

Fans attributed the slip to fatigue from the relentless touring for the past two years.

“The God of Songs has reached his physical limits. It pains us to see him suffer,” one fan wrote.

Others pointed out that the superstar was seen breathing heavily from the performance.
