Cops seek help to locate missing teen girl in Ampang


AMPANG: Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a 13-year-old girl reported missing since Wednesday (March 25).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid said a report was lodged by the girl’s mother, who claimed her daughter had gone missing from their home in Bandar Baru Ampang at about 8pm.

“The complainant checked the house before discovering that the teenager had left with a bag of clothes.

“The incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding with family members,” he said in a statement on Thursday (March 26).

He said the girl is about 160cm tall, weighs 56kg, and has a slim build with a medium-dark complexion.

Those with information on her whereabouts are urged to go to the nearest police station or contact the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters control centre at 03-42897222.

Information can also be channelled to investigating officer Insp Nur Alia Dyana Raimi at 017-6515201.

He also advised parents and guardians to closely monitor children under their care and to contact the authorities or MERS 999 in case of emergencies.
