Woman dies from burns in Klebang fire


IPOH: A 40-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained due to a fire in Klebang, near here.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a distress call about the incident was received on Wednesday (August 6) at about 11.26 pm.

"The victim suffered burns covering about 80% of her body," he said in a statement on Thursday (August 7).

Sabarodzi added that the victim was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel after the fire was extinguished.

"The body was handed over to the police for the next course of action. The operation ended at 12.23 am," he added.
