Full-time wardens at all 58 Mara Junior Science Colleges in 2027

KUALA LUMPUR: Full-time wardens will be placed at all 58 Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM) nationwide starting next year.

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the full-time wardens comprise former uniformed personnel selected through strict vetting and are required to undergo training to understand Mara's education philosophy.

"Teachers will no longer be burdened with warden duties… just focus on teaching and student development," he posted on Facebook on Monday (April 20).

In August last year, Asyraf Wajdi announced that Mara had launched a pilot project appointing two Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) veterans as wardens at two MRSMs for six months.

He said the initiative, aimed at tackling bullying cases and easing teachers' burden, would be expanded nationwide if its implementation evaluation showed positive results. - Bernama
