Incentives show govt makes the people's interests a priority, says backbenchers club

KUALA LUMPUR: The incentives announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim show that the government is aware of the realities faced by the rakyat, says Parliament's  Government Backbenchers Club.

Its chief Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah said the announcement shows that the Madani government is committed to put the people's interests as its main priority.

"The announcement shows the government is sensitive to what the rakyat is facing.

"It also shows that the government not only implements policies but is also aware of what is happening on the ground.

"It is also proof that the government listens to the grouses of the rakyat and makes an effort to find a comprehensive solution to ensure shared prosperity," he told a press conference in Parliament on Wednesday (July 23).

He added that the incentives announced by Anwar would ease the cost of living while improving spending power, particularly for those in the B40 and M40 groups.

He said this would, in turn, help spur the local economy more sustainably.

Shahar urged the people to continue supporting the administration for the sake of the nation's well-being and prosperity.
