KUALA LUMPUR: The public is reminded to always refer to official guidelines when displaying the Jalur Gemilang to avoid mistakes and uphold the dignity of the national symbol.
Deputy Director of the Communication Services and Community Development Division at the Department of Information Malaysia (JaPen), Azwarni Herni Che Noh, said guidelines on displaying the flag correctly can be downloaded via the Merdeka360 portal and JaPen e-Book platform.
"This small step will help prevent mistakes such as installing the Jalur Gemilang upside down, using a worn or damaged flag, or displaying it inappropriately,” she said during the Fokus 30 programme on Bernama Radio here today, which discussed the "1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang Campaign”.
Azwarni Herni said it was important for the public to refer to official guidelines via digital platforms such as ebook.penerangan.gov.my or the Merdeka360 portal to avoid making their own assumptions and disregarding the proper etiquette for respecting the national flag.
She also highlighted the need to comply with certain procedures when using Jalur Gemilang magnets on public and private vehicles, particularly for safety reasons.
Meanwhile, Azwarni Herni called on Malaysians to make the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang initiative a success by displaying the national flag at their respective homes as a sign of love and pride for the country in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2026.
"Our bigger goal is to foster a sense of love and pride for this country, while also remembering the services and sacrifices of previous generations.
"Let us start from our own homes by displaying the Jalur Gemilang properly and with pride as a symbol of our love for the country,” she said.- Bernama
