Putrajaya postpones toll hikes for 10 highways, says PM Anwar


PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced the postponement of toll hikes for 10 highways that were scheduled to take effect this year.

During a special announcement broadcast on national television and his social media pages on Wednesday (July 23), Anwar explained, "According to an agreement with highway operators, the toll rates were supposed to increase this year. These were old agreements between the companies and the previous governments."

He noted that this postponement would cost the government RM500 million.

This includes the Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE), East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB) and KL-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX) among others.
