ISKANDAR PUTERI: The soft launch of Sunway Puteri Hills on Monday (Aug 10) has introduced Johor's first elevated hilltop dining destination overlooking the Straits of Johor and Singapore.
Sunway Malls group managing director Chan Hoi Choy said the development highlights Sunway Group’s aggressive expansion across the southern region.
"Puteri Hills spans a 10-acre site and features 13 dining spaces, all built around the philosophy of creating welcoming communities," he said at the soft opening ceremony on Monday (Aug 10).
Chan said the launch reinforces Sunway City Iskandar Puteri's growth as a premier dining and lifestyle hub, with 11 brands making their debut in Johor.
He noted that the hub brings together a mix of local and regional establishments, including Made on Monday, a'rest Café, Makan-Makan by Hock Kee, Kaetsu, Khuya Thai and Reef Seafood.
Kuala Lumpur's popular Kenny Hills Bakers will also open its first outlet in Johor, featuring its first sea-view concept outlet in the country.
"Cili Kampung, famous for its upscale, authentic kampung-style dishes, has also opened its first outlet in Johor," Chan said, adding that both outlets are slated to begin operations in the last quarter of 2026.
Additionally, Padi Villa and Padi Malaya will make their Johor debut with Malaysia's first twin-concept dining experience, combining a bakery and full-service restaurant within a sea-facing villa setting.
Chan added that public transport operator Causeway Link will unveil a new CW75 bus route on Saturday (Aug 15) to connect Sunway Puteri Hills, Sunway Citrine Hub and Sunway Big Box Retail Park to the Second Link Crossing.
"The new bus service provides greater convenience and accessibility for cross-border visitors travelling between Johor and Singapore," he said.
