Kitten freed from ventilation hole by APM in Kuala Ketil

ALOR SETAR: A kitten was rescued after being trapped in a ventilation hole on the door of a house in Kuala Ketil on Sunday (July 6).

Baling Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt (PA) Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said they received an emergency call from a woman who reported that her pet cat had become trapped at 10.43am.

"A team of four personnel was immediately dispatched to the scene to carry out the rescue operation," he said in a statement on Sunday (July 6).

Mohd Faizol said that when the team arrived at the scene, they found the cat’s head firmly stuck in a hole at the top of a door. It could not be freed using conventional methods.

To ensure the animal’s safety, the rescue team took extra precautions by carefully cutting a section of the door frame with special equipment.

The cat was successfully freed without any injuries.

"The pet owner thanked the rescue team for the swift and efficient action," said Mohd Faizol.

The operation took about 25 minutes to complete.
