PETALING JAYA: Key members of the Federal Territories Pardons Board, including Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, were seen departing Istana Negara around 9.40am on Friday (Sept 18).
According to local daily Sinar Harian, Yeoh arrived at the palace grounds earlier at 7.48am, followed by Razarudin, ahead of the high-stakes morning meeting chaired by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.
Attorney General Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, who also sits on the board, was among the top officials present for the session.
Public and political attention remains fixated on today's proceedings following a renewed pardon application submitted on behalf of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Consideration of Najib's petition was previously deferred during the 63rd Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting on September 11, during which His Majesty granted pardons to 65 other prisoners.
As of 9:40am, Istana Negara has yet to issue an official statement regarding the outcome of the deliberations.
