Elderly woman beaten up over rubbish dispute


AN elderly woman in Karnataka, India, was beaten up after she told her neighbour not to dump rubbish in front of her house, Makkal Osai reported.

The 76-year-old woman had confronted her neighbour after she noticed the younger woman throwing rubbish near her house.

The argument escalated when the younger woman and her siblings tied the elderly woman to a tree and beat her.

Passersby rescued the elderly woman and videos of the incident went viral. The younger woman was arrested and charged in court, while her siblings are awaiting to be charged.

Makkal Osai reported that Seremban MP Anthony Loke recently distributed funds to the schools in his constituency, urging that they be used transparently via parent-teacher associations.
