Pamela Ling is still missing, say cops in response to claims


PETALING JAYA: A news report claiming that Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh was found dead in a house here is fake news, according to police.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated on Monday (May 19) that the article from an online news outlet was false.

"The police confirm that there have been no reports regarding the supposed discovery of the body in a house in Petaling Jaya as stated in the article," he said.

The article alleged that the purpose of her children's police statement session was due to her supposed death.

On April 9, Pamela was summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist with an investigation under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

However, she went missing while on her way to the appointment. Her lawyer filed a police report regarding her disappearance on the same day.

So far, no ransom demand has been made in connection with her disappearance.
