Tahfiz teacher arrested for sexual assault, abuse of two boys


PETALING JAYA: A tahfiz school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and beating two children.

In a statement on Wednesday (Aug 19), Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid said that the Welfare Department lodged a police report regarding the incident on August 18.

"The complainant also brought the two 11-year-old male victims to Selayang Hospital for medical examinations.

"Further police investigations found that both victims were allegedly sexually assaulted by the suspect between July and August of this year.

"Both victims claimed that they were also beaten with a wooden cane on August 16 as well, for alleged discipline issues during class," he said.

The suspect was arrested the same day the report was lodged.

"He has been remanded until August 25 to assist investigations," ACP Khairul Anuar added.
