Kampar man, 57, found dead in well


IPOH: A 57-year-old man was found dead in a 3m-deep well at Kampung Nyior in Kampar.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim was believed to have slipped and fallen while attempting to fetch water from the well.

"We received a distress call on Thursday (April 17) at about 7.52am.

"Upon arrival at the scene, the team found that the victim had fallen in the well," he said in a statement.

"Personnel retrieved the victim using a rope system, and the body was successfully brought up," he said, adding that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.

The victim’s remains have been handed over to the police for further action.
