Preacher claims fake news will extend his life

FUGITIVE Indian preacher Nithyananda has claimed that he could prolong his life for another 1,000 years if people continue spreading false news that he had died, Makkal Osai reported.

The self-proclaimed “godman” fled India to avoid facing various charges and is currently hiding on an island in South America, which he has declared a sovereign nation under his rule.

Recently, news spread online that he had died.

Nithyananda released a video clarifying the rumours, calling on all content creators to have a “panchayat” (village tribunal) to determine if he is alive or dead.

He claimed there have been some 4,000 videos speculating about his death.

In another video, Nithyananda said he would extend his life for a thousand years if people continued making such claims.

The 47-year-old had previously said that he would die at the age of 126.
