Newborn survives earthquake but left without family

A 16-DAY-OLD baby miraculously survived the deadly earthquake in Myanmar, major Chinese dailies reported.

The newborn, whose gender was not revealed, was rescued after being trapped under the debris of a collapsed building in Mandalay city for over 14 hours.

Unfortunately, all eight family members of the baby did not survive the tragedy.

The baby, who was sent to the hospital for medical examination, was in stable condition.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that an air stewardess of China’s Shenzhen Airlines was bitten after attempting to calm two female passengers fighting on the plane.

The incident took place shortly after the passengers boarded the aircraft for a flight from Shenzhen in Guangdong province to Jingdezhen in Jiangxi province on Tuesday.

The women, who were sitting beside each other, had argued over each other’s body odour and perfume scent before a fistfight ensued.

The incident forced all passengers to return to the waiting lounge, and they re-boarded and took off more than two hours later.

The women involved in the fight were handed over to the police.
