PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi over breakfast in New Delhi, India on Sunday, with the two exchanging views on the latest international and regional developments.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also present at the meeting.
Anwar, in a Facebook post, described Rahul as his good friend and said the brief meeting provided an opportunity for them to exchange views on current international and regional developments.
“I had the opportunity to meet once again with my good friend, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, over breakfast this morning.
“The brief meeting provided an opportunity for us to exchange views on the latest international and regional developments,” he said.
The meeting came a day after Anwar held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on cooperation in trade, semiconductors, infrastructure and defence.
Malaysia is a partner country in the BRICS grouping and a key partner for India within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
