KUALA LUMPUR: Five areas, four in Sarawak and one in Peninsular Malaysia, have recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 4pm on Sunday (Sept 13).
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (Apims) portal, the four areas in Sarawak are the Serian police headquarters with an API reading of at 174, Sri Aman (164), Samarahan (154) and Kuching (154).
Johan Setia in Selangor recorded an unhealthy API reading of 131.
Nationwide, 56 areas recorded moderate readings, while seven recorded good readings.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous. – Bernama
