GEORGE TOWN: The body of an unidentified man has been found in a 10m-deep drain on Jalan Pantai Jerejak, here.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said it received a request for assistance from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to retrieve the body at 2.34am on Sunday (Sept 13).
"Ten firefighters, along with a Fire Rescue Tender and an ambulance from the Bayan Baru fire station were dispatched to retrieve the victim's body.
"The body of the man, believed to be in his 40s, was found at the bottom of the drain and successfully brought up before the operation was fully concluded at 3.15am," it said in a statement on Sunday.
The body was subsequently handed over to the police before being sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination. – Bernama
