Floods and foul air plague Tamil school in Klang

MUDDY water that constantly floods classrooms and foul air from passing garbage trucks have plagued a Tamil school in Klang, and parents and teachers have had enough, Makkal Osai reported.

They want the authorities to end the problems endured by SJK (T) Ladang Jalan Acob, some of which have persisted for 10 years.

Some of these woes are believed to be caused by nearby construction sites that have also polluted the air in the school.

In the latest incident on March 23, the school compound was flooded again and the stagnant water took two days to recede, said headmaster Visnhu Nokkaraju.

School board officials blame the floods on construction sites surrounding the school which have neglected to provide proper drainage for their projects.

A police report has been filed over the matter, said the board chairman, who was identified as Ramachandran.

> Two men believed to be behind a series of snatch thefts in a single day in Chennai were arrested by Tamil Nadu police as they tried to leave the state by air, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The thieves targeted women who were on their way to work, walking in the park or running daily errands within the space of a few hours in adjacent areas.

The sudden spike in cases and similar descriptions given by the victims of two men on a motorcycle showed a pattern.

City police used CCTV footage from those locations to identify the suspects who were said to be from one of India’s northern states.

The men were tracked down and arrested as they were waiting to board a plane to Hyderabad.
