PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid has been appointed as the newest deputy Inspector General of Police.
The appointment was confirmed by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in a statement on Monday (Sept 14).
“Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid was born on February 19, 1967, in Penaga, Penang, and holds a Master’s degree in Social Science (Police Studies) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He joined the police force on July 1, 1995.
"In line with his experience and expertise, he has held various strategic positions within the force. These include Director of the Management Department, Deputy Director of the Special Branch, Deputy Director of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, deputy police chief of Penang, chief assistant director of Management (Policy/Resources), and chief assistant director of the Integrated Special Investigation Team.
“Based on his expertise and experience in policing, he possesses the competence and strong leadership qualities required to serve as deputy IGP. The government congratulates him on his appointment,” he said.
