‘Suspicious’ huts on Mount Kinabalu meant for high altitude training, says Sabah Parks director

KOTA KINABALU: The presence of ‘suspicious’ huts on a site on Mount Kinabalu has sparked concern.

Many including Kundasang Tourism and Culture Association Chairman Datuk Japiril Suhaimin have called for an immediate probe to be conducted.

They ask whether permits and approval have been obtained, and questioned the purpose of the huts.

Sabah Parks director Datuk Dr Maklarin Lakim however explained that those huts near the Sayat-Sayat station, were actually their property.

“These are additional facilities for high altitude training,” he said.
