KUALA LUMPUR: Former minister Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom wants to have his day in court after being charged with three counts of dishonestly misappropriating Tabung Haji (TH) assets.
Jamil Khir, 65, told the press that he believed the court was the best place for him to be vindicated.
"This is the best place (court) to get my justice. I am confident. Inshaallah, the court will give the best justice," he said in a press conference outside of the court complex here on Monday (Sept 14).
Earlier, Jamil Khir posted his RM300,000 bail at about 10.30am. He also had to surrender his passport as instructed by the court.
The former minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) claimed trial at the Sessions Court on three counts of causing Lembaga Tabung Haji to improperly dispose of over RM860.3mil in assets belonging to the institution between 2015 and 2017.
