PUTRAJAYA: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has arrived at the Palace of Justice complex here, where he is expected to hear the verdict on his appeal to overturn his three-year jail term after he was found guilty of criminal breach of trust two years ago.
He arrived at 10.30am on Thursday (March 20) with his family members and supporters present.
Celebrity Bella Astillah was also spotted. The duo had been making headlines as their close relationship went viral after the two were chosen as ambassadors for a well-known clothing brand.
Syed Saddiq’s fate will be determined Thursday as the Court of Appeal hears his challenge against a seven-year prison sentence, two lashes, and a RM10mil fine for four charges related to the misappropriation of funds from Armada.
The appeal will be heard before a three-judge panel at the Court of Appeal here where Syed Saddiq will act as the appellant and the prosecution as the respondent.
If the appeal succeeds, Syed Saddiq will be acquitted, though the prosecution can still appeal to the Federal Court.
