Syed Saddiq to receive government funding after negotiations

PETALING JAYA: Government allocations will be received soon after five negotiation sessions with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, says

Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman

He said he has no issue signing the confidence and supply agreement (CSA) or memorandum of understanding (MoU) and meeting all conditions - including asset declaration - as long as the welfare of Muar residents is maintained.

"If there is a need to declare assets, I will do it. I was among the first ministers to do so even before the election. I don’t mind declaring every year; it's not a problem.

"This is for the benefit of Muar residents, and hopefully, there will be good news for them soon so that welfare aid and development can be implemented as soon as possible.

"God willing, if this agreement succeeds, everything will run smoothly. I welcome this positively and also thank the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and Fadillah," he said on Monday (March 10).

Previously, Fadillah, also Chairman of the Government Consultation Council, said the former President of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) had agreed in principle to the conditions set by the government.

He explained that all details are now in the final stage and will be finalised soon. He also stated that he has not yet received feedback from other opposition MPs.

Earlier, Syed Saddiq claimed he had to agree to be a model as an effort to obtain funds to meet the needs of people in his constituency.
