PUTRAJAYA: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman may have been the man in the dock, but it was actress and singer Bella Astillah who was in the spotlight.
The 31-year-old actress, wearing a floral baju kurung, came to support the former Muda president in his appeal against his conviction.
She sat at the public gallery in open court throughout the first day of the hearing.
Bella, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, and Syed Saddiq have been “trending” on social media with rumours of them being a couple after they were paired together in a Hari Raya Aidilfitri campaign for a local fashion brand.
When met by the press before the proceedings began, Syed Saddiq was full of praise for Bella.
“Thank you. She is an extraordinary woman and I am indebted,” he said briefly.
