Thunderstorm warning issued for multiple states, says MetMalaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are forecasted for various states, effective until 5pm on Wednesday (March 12), says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In Kedah, areas such as Kulim and Bandar Baharu are expected to be affected.

In Penang, residents should also brace for severe weather.

In Perak, districts including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim are on alert.

Terengganu regions such as Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman are under warning.

In Pahang, areas like Cameron Highlands, Raub, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin are expected to experience adverse conditions.

Selangor's Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat, along with FT Kuala Lumpur, are also affected.

Negeri Sembilan areas including Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin, as well as Melaka's Jasin, should prepare for the weather impact.

In Johor, thunderstorms are forecasted across the state.

In Sarawak, regions such as Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang are expected to be hit.

In Sabah, the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, and Nabawan), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud), Sandakan (Telupid and Beluran), and Kudat are under the thunderstorm warning.
