MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in multiple states this evening (March 7)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned about thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 5pm on Friday (March 7).

In a statement at 3pm on Friday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Kedah (Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang (North Seberang Prai, Central Seberang Prai and South Seberang Prai); Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin); Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak and Petaling), the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru).

It also warned of Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 7pm on Friday in Sarawak, affecting Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu and Miri.

Areas affected in Sabah are the West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud), Sandakan and Kudat.
