Storm warning: Thunderstorms, strong winds expected over three states until 6pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, with heavy rain and strong winds forecast in three states until 6pm Sunday (March 2).

In a statement Sunday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Perak (Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), and Johor (Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Sri Aman (Sri Aman) Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Telang Usang, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.

The public is advised to visit www.met.gov.my or MetMalaysia’s official social media channels and download the myCuaca application for the latest accurate information.
