MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for five states, Labuan until 11pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to affect five states and Labuan until 11pm Thursday (July 30).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the affected states are Perlis; Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu and Kota Setar); and Pahang (Raub, Jerantut and Temerloh).

A similar warning has also been issued for Sabah, covering the Interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), the West Coast (Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud), and Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan).

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Miri and Marudi), and Limbang.

Similar weather conditions are also expected to affect the Federal Territory of Labuan. - Bernama
