Pre-dawn crowing ruffles feathers

HIS rooster has a habit of crowing at full volume every day even before the break of dawn, much to the dismay of his neighbours.

The male chicken belonging to Anil Kumar, who lives in Pathanamthitta city in the Indian state of Kerala, would crow loudly at around 3am, Makkal Osai reported.

Finally, a long-suffering neighbour, Ramakrishna Kurup, couldn’t take it any longer and lodged a report at the local government office.

Some assumed that Kurup was exaggerating, but he had been losing sleep and it was affecting his health.

Local government officers visited Kumar’s house and found that he had placed a chicken coop on the top floor of his house. This had made the noise unbearable.

He was ordered to move the coop to the side of the house, away from the neighbours, who finally got some relief from the noise.
