KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong had the pleasant surprise of meeting former Senator Datuk Maijol Mahap during a brief stop in Kota Marudu on his way to Kudat in Sabah.

The former senator, who served in the Dewan Negara for two terms from 2006 to 2012, was on a walkabout in the area when they crossed paths.

"While enjoying coffee and Kota Marudu's pisang goreng, we also had a chat about the political landscape in Sabah. Thank you, Datuk Maijol, for treating me to coffee and fried bananas," Dr Wee shared in a Facebook post.

Earlier, Dr Wee had stopped by Tuaran for lunch at Tai Fatt Restaurant, known for the local delicacy, Tuaran mee.
