Dr Wee extends Hari Raya Aidilfitri wishes

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has extended his Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to all celebrating, wishing for a safe and meaningful festive season.

In a video message shared on social media, the MCA president conveyed his wishes to the Muslim community wherever they may be, expressing hope that the celebration would bring blessings and happiness to all.

“Hari Raya Aidilfitri marks the end of Ramadan, a month observed with patience, discipline and sincerity.

“It is also a celebration that reflects unity, love and the spirit of forgiveness — values that are especially important in a multiracial society like Malaysia,” he said on Friday (March 20).

Dr Wee, who is also the Ayer Hitam MP, said he hoped the occasion would bring joy and peace while strengthening family ties, friendships and the sense of brotherhood among Malaysians.

He also reminded those celebrating not to forget the less fortunate during the festive period.

“In our enthusiasm to celebrate, let us not overlook those who are less fortunate. Celebrate with simplicity and gratitude,” he said.

With many expected to travel back to their hometowns, Dr Wee also urged the public to prioritise road safety.

“I would like to remind everyone to be cautious on the roads, obey traffic rules, plan your journey well and always prioritise the safety of yourself and your family.

“If you feel tired or sleepy, stop at a safe place and rest.

“May you all arrive safely at your destinations,” he added.
