Woman killed after shawl caught in bike

A WOMAN was killed after she was flung off a motorcycle when her “dupatta” (long shawl) got entangled in the wheels, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Thaheera Bhanu, 33, was riding pillion with her husband as they were returning from a relative’s wedding in Vellore city, Tamil Nadu, India, when tragedy struck.

Her unsecured shawl, which was flying about, suddenly got caught in the bike’s rear wheel.

Thaheera was pulled off the machine when the shawl spun tightly around the wheel. She fell to the ground and hit her head.

Passers-by helped rush her to the hospital but she died later.
