MetMalaysia: Heavy continuous rain expected for three straight days in multiple states

PETALING JAYA: Heavy continuous rainfall is expected to hit multiple states across the country for three days straight starting this Wednesday (Jan 15), says the Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement on Sunday (Jan 12), the department said the heavy downpour was due to a monsoon surge that was expected to impact the country from Jan 15 to Jan 18.

It said the intense rainfall was expected to impact several states in Peninsular Malaysia, areas in the South and West of Sarawak, as well as Sabah during this period.

“Analysis of the latest weather forecast models indicates that a monsoon surge is expected to occur from Jan 15 to Jan 18 2025, which may lead to heavy and continuous rainfall in several areas across the country.

“The public is advised to refer to MetMalaysia’s website www.met.gov.my and official social media channels, as well as download the myCuaca app for any latest and accurate information,” it said.
