MetMalaysia: Severe weather, thunderstorms expected in parts of peninsula, Sabah, Sarawak on Jan 8


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 7pm on Wednesday (Jan 8).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 3.40pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perak (Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang dan Muallim), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat dan Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Seremban dan Port Dickson).

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan dan Asajaya), Betong (Pusa, Saratok dan Kabong), Sarikei, Mukah (Tanjung Manis dan Daro), Miri (Telang Usan dan Marudi) dan Limbang as well as in Sabah: Pedalaman, Pantai Barat (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu dan Tuaran), Tawau dan Sandakan (Tongod) and Labuan.
