Why hide addendum, asks Nazifuddin

PUTRAJAYA: The fight to seek justice for Datuk Seri Najib Razak will go on, says his son Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin.

He welcomed the Appeals Court decision and thanked supporters who had rallied behind his father.

“This is the best decision but we will continue the fight in the High Court.

“Let us wait and see,” he told reporters outside the Palace of Justice yesterday.

Family members, including Najib’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, along with her other children Nooryana Najwa and Datuk Mohamad Nizar Najib, were also seen at the Palace of Justice.

Mohd Nazifuddin had also questioned why the government hid the royal addendum and did not implement it for his father to serve house arrest.

This is after the Court of Appeal allowed Najib’s bid for leave to commence judicial review over an alleged royal addendum.

“The royal addendum exists and it was not implemented.

“There are two issues now: why did you hide it and why did you not implement it?” Mohd Nazifuddin asked.

He said he did not want to elaborate as he would bring the matter up to the High Court next.

“I would also like to express my highest gratitude to the Sultan of Pahang for confirming the existence of the royal addendum.

“It proves that it can be used in court and can no longer be denied and considered as hearsay,” said Mohd Nazifuddin.

He said his father was touched by all the public support shown to him.

Earlier, Najib succeeded in obtaining leave from the Court of Appeal in a split 2-1 decision in his appeal relating to his claims of a royal addendum order that would allow him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

In the majority decision, the appellate court overturned the High Court’s dismissal of Najib’s application for leave to initiate judicial review over the prison time imposed on him in the SRC International Sdn Bhd trial.
