PKR Youth wing condemns attack against Iranian diplomatic complex in Syria

KUALA LUMPUR: The raid on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus recently, which took 18 innocent lives including two senior government officials, must be viewed as another war crime committed by Israel, says PKR Youth wing.

It said the attack has pushed the besieged territory to the brink of famine following an already devastating situation in Palestine.

"We hope and wish to observe similar strong responses from international communities, especially the United States and its allies, against these atrocities and disproportionate attacks by Israel against Syria and Palestine," it said in a statement on Monday (April 15).

Angkatan Muda Keadilan said that while they do not condone acts of violence and war, the context of the situation in the Middle East requires a different understanding of the facts and circumstances.

It said the continuous blatant commission of war crimes by Israel demands accountability, while the silence and inaction from both the United States and the international community are deeply troubling.

The statement also said that egregious violations of international law must not be tolerated nor left unpunished.

It said any form of violent action only perpetuates a cycle of retaliation.

"We call upon the international community to stand with us together to condemn and respond decisively to all forms of violence and atrocities, irrespective of the perpetrators, to end this vicious cycle and promote lasting peace in the region, focusing on the freedom of the Palestinian as the primary agenda," it said.
