Cabinet reshuffle: Tok Mat to carry on with the nation's open and inclusive foreign policies


PETALING JAYA: Newly minted Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan gives his commitment to continue the country's progressive, open and inclusive foreign policies.

In a Facebook post, the Umno deputy president expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his appointment.

“It is a big responsibility and trust that I will carry out to the best of my ability, with the cooperation and advice of senior officials and all staff at Wisma Putra.

“God willing, my commitment is to continue the progressive, open and inclusive foreign policy, in line with the national interests and international role of Malaysia,” the former defence minister wrote on Tuesday (Dec 12).

Mohamad also thanked his predecessor Senator Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir for his leadership as the former foreign minister.

The Rembau MP also shared his gratitude to the top personnel and members of the Defence Ministry and Armed Forces.

“I am deeply grateful for all the cooperation, suggestions and assistance provided during my tenure as the Defence Minister.

“The valuable experience I gained at the ministry will be eternally cherished," he said.

Mohamad also congratulated his successor Datuk Seri Mohammad Khaled Nordin.

“InsyaAllah, Datuk Seri's extensive experience will bring significant benefits to the members of the (Defence) ministry,” he added.
