Don’t want to be stranded in your hometown? Then hit the road by Friday (Jan 15), says Ismail Sabri

PUTRAJAYA: Those who are currently in their hometowns can make their way home, the latest by Friday (Jan 15), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said that police will be conducting roadblocks beginning midnight Wednesday (Jan 13) to prevent inter-state travel, which will be banned during the two week movement control order (MCO).

“However, after discussing with the police, we will be giving some leeway over the next few days for people to make their way home.

“They will have to do it at least by Friday, or may be stuck in their hometowns for the next two weeks, ” he said on Tuesday (Jan 12).

Ismail Sabri said those with flight and bus express tickets will be allowed to proceed with their journey.

He reminded the public that from Jan 13 to Jan 26, interstate travel will not be allowed, be it in states under MCO, conditional MCO or recovery MCO.
