PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail visited Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof and former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Sunday (Aug 9).
In a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 9), Anwar said Fadillah’s health was improving, but he still needed sufficient rest on the advice of his medical team.
“Alhamdulillah, his health condition is improving, but he still needs sufficient rest on the advice of the medical team,” he said.
Anwar said he and Dr Wan Azizah also visited Ismail Sabri as a gesture of friendship.
He said the former prime minister was still receiving treatment and required further monitoring.
“Azizah and I pray that both of them are granted a speedy recovery, that all aspects of their treatment are eased, and that they continue to be blessed with good health and strength to continue serving the people and the country, insya-Allah,” he said.
Fadillah’s office had earlier announced that he would undergo heart bypass surgery at IJN on the advice of medical specialists.
Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was scheduled to be charged in the Sessions Court on Friday (Aug 7), had been warded at IJN after experiencing health issues while having his statement recorded at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters.
