PKR failed to produce leader on par with Onn Hafiz, says Youth chief

MELAKA: PKR must examine why it has failed to produce a leader capable of standing on an equal footing with Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, says its Youth chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim.

Kamil described Onn Hafiz's landslide victory in Johor as a “bitter reality” that the party needed to swallow and reflect on.

“He won convincingly in Johor because we failed to produce a figure and leader who could stand on an equal footing with him in Johor.

“Yes, that is the reality, the fact that we need to reflect on and examine ourselves.

“Have we succeeded in positioning a figure who can offer an alternative to the existing leadership?” he said in his closing speech at the PKR Youth Congress on Friday (Aug 14).

Kamil also called on delegates to carry out their duties and fulfil the trust placed in them by the party.
