"The identities of both victims will be confirmed through comparison of DNA samples from their next-of-kin,” he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 14).
Meanwhile, he said preliminary investigations found that a tanker carrying 32,000 litres of diesel from Seremban to Temerloh was believed to have skidded into the opposite lane.
"Based on information from the victims’ next-of-kin, the car was travelling from Jerantut to Seremban. The collision caused the tanker trailer to crush the car, and both vehicles caught fire,” he said.
ACP Nasyim said the 37-year-old lorry driver, however, managed to escape and sustained only minor injuries.
Meanwhile, he said post-mortem examinations on the victims would be conducted on Saturday (Aug 15).- Bernama
