KUALA KANGSAR: Five Perak state executive council members have been appointed to form a new state government.
Those appointed were Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's Sungai Manik Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin and four Umno assemblymen - Datuk Zolkafly Harun (Lintang), Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup), Datuk Dr Norashikin Wan Noordin (Kampong Gajah) and Khairul Shahrul Mohamed (Bota).
The ceremony took place at around 2.30pm at Istana Iskandariah, here Thursday (Dec 10).
Zainol is Perak Bersatu secretary and special advisor to former mentri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
Earlier Thursday, Kota Tampan assemblyman Datuk Saarani Mohamad (pic) took his oath of office as the 14th Mentri Besar before Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar.
Previously under the leadership of Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal, 10 exco members (excluding the Mentri Besar) were appointed, namely Datuk Saarani Mohamad, Razman Zakaria, Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohd Radzi, Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamahri, Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin,Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin, Datuk Mohd Zolkaply Harun, Khairul Shahril Mohamed and Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud.
According to a source, there will be no changes in the exco line-up.
"Only Mentri Besar is changing, the rest will remain the same.
"I was informed that even head villagers will not be changed," he said.
