Indera Mahkota MP calls for parliamentary briefing on school safety after Yong Peng tragedy


PETALING JAYA: Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Sri Saifuddin Abdullah has called on the Education Minister to address the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Oct 5) regarding student safety in schools following the death of a 16-year-old female student in Yong Peng.

In a press statement issued on Sunday (Oct 4), Saifuddin expressed his condolences to the family of the victim, Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, while describing the current state of student safety in schools as increasingly critical and unacceptable.

"I demand that the Education Minister provide an official briefing session in the Dewan Rakyat regarding student safety in schools tomorrow, immediately following the oral question-and-answer session," Saifuddin said.
