Bersatu sacks Saifuddin Abdullah


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah confirms he has been sacked from Bersatu, effective immediately.

The Bersatu supreme council member, however, said he received the notice on Tuesday (Jan 6) evening.

“Yes. Received the notice just now. I will appeal,” the Indera Mahkota MP told The Star briefly.

Based on the Bersatu Disciplinary Board letter dated January 6, the decision followed a party meeting held on Monday (Jan 5).

It was reported that the sacking resulted from Saifuddin's action, which violated Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution.

The dismissal letter was signed by Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, the Chairman of the Bersatu Disciplinary Board.

In November last year, Saifuddin was summoned by the Bersatu Disciplinary Board for an investigation into allegations of involvement in a movement to overthrow President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
