Perak PKR: Politicians need to be committed to welfare of the people

IPOH: Politicians need to be committed to ensure that the people’s welfare is not forgotten, says Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

While congratulating Perak Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad for being sworn in as the Perak Mentri Besar, Farhash said that politicians should be focused and run a government properly for the sake of the people.

“In respect of the decree by Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the political crisis reflects the failure of an administration. It is important that politicians focus their minds and energy to govern the state for the welfare of the people,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 10).

Saarani - who is also Kota Tampan assemblyman - was sworn in at Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar earlier Thursday.

Farhash said the Opposition would work with the state to look after the future of the people in facing a post Covid-19 world.

“We will continue to serve the people as the Opposition while debating the state budget,” he added.
