Media are government’s ‘eyes and ears’ in addressing ground issues, says Perak Exco

IPOH: Media practitioners act as crucial "eyes and ears" for the government by bringing ground issues to light for swift official action, says Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng.

Speaking at a media fishing event at Aisha DNI Agro Resort on Saturday (Oct 4), Ng acknowledged the growing demands on modern journalists, who must balance speed with accuracy while navigating complex coverage.

"Thank you to our media friends for being the eyes and ears of the government, bringing issues to our attention so that we can take action and make improvements quickly," she said in her speech

Ng noted that both the state and the media face the challenge of modern information consumption, where viral headlines and fake news often overshadow nuanced background details.

Thanking the media for serving as a strategic partner to the state government, she commended their commitment and professionalism, expressing hope for continued strong collaboration moving forward.
