SEREMBAN: The prolonged constitutional and adat crisis in Negri Sembilan has fuelled perceptions of a dysfunctional state government, says the state PKR.
It called for an immediate resolution to the impasse In a statement on the Facebook page of state party chief and former mentri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
It said that while the civil service continues to fulfil its duties, the current leadership uncertainty and disrupted decision-making processes risk causing widespread confusion among civil servants, investors, local authorities and the public.

"The people cannot be made to bear the consequences of governance failure.
"The crisis must not be allowed to paralyse the administration, burden the people or adversely affect state economic activities," it said following a meeting of the state chapter on Tuesday (Sept 29) night.
The party said the ongoing situation not only involves constitutional matters and the royal institution, but also raises concerns over the continuity of the administration, economic stability, and the people's welfare.
With the new executive council members yet to be appointed, the party warned that this could delay critical matters requiring official consideration and approval by state authorities.
"Investments, development, land approvals and transfers, as well as project implementation, could be affected.
"This deadlock could undermine investor confidence, disrupt operations for landowners and businesses, and ultimately threaten job opportunities and the people's income," it said, adding that the people's welfare must take precedence over political interests or personal considerations.

The party said the appointments of local councillors and village development and security committee members must be made as soon as possible, as they are vital links between the state government and the grassroots.
Additionally, the party also expressed disappointment over Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim's actions and stance, stating that they appear to contradict the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
"The state PKR will always pledge our absolute loyalty and support to Tuanku Muhriz and respect the position and role of the royal institution within the framework of the Constitution and the Laws of the State of Negri Sembilan," it said.

Negri PKR also expressed hope that political leaders will prioritise wisdom, avoid statements that could escalate tensions, and allow the constitutional and legal processes to resolve the crisis.
On Tuesday, Tuanku Muhriz granted an audience to Ismail, with the meeting believed to have focused on efforts to resolve the crisis.
However, no statements were issued after the three-hour audience.
